The Western New York Parrothead Club was founded in 1997 by David Cohen, who is still active and currently serves as the President of the club. At it's inception the WNY Club was the 100th chapter sanctioned by the national organization of Jimmy Buffett Phan Clubs, Parrotheads in Paradise, Inc.
In keeping with the strong tradition of PHIP, the WNY Parrotheads are a group of people who not only love Jimmy's music, but believe strongly in giving back to the community and protecting the environment in which we live. The WNY Parrotheads are very active in the community and encourage that in all members. Over the years, the WNY Parrotheads have adopted two manatee, have established an annual bowl-a-thon to benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York, have adopted a highway that we clean up twice annually and have organized or participated in fundraisers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the Tour De Cure and the MS Walk, to name a few.
The Western New York Parrothead Club is governed by a Board of Directors that are elected annually. The current Board of Directors is:
